Today, my hope is that you take the opportunity to look at your life from a new lens, a positive perspective, with belief in your heart, knowing that while you have no control over outside circumstances, you do have the control to affect your own health, happiness, and life.
First let’s recognize and acknowledge that where the chi goes the blood flows, so we want to keep our bodies free from blockages that prevent blood, nutrients, and oxygen from feeding our organs, brains, and heart. Feeling stressed is a major cause of these blockages which in turn causes illness and disease. Some people react differently to stressful situations because of the level that their energy is vibrating, so you want to engage in habits that help you to vibrate higher as a preventive measure. 10 things that can include are:
1. Get daily doses of sunshine, which provide vital nutrients for your overall health
2. Physically connect with the earth to balance your energy
3. Take the time to disconnect from people and things so that you can appreciate and be grateful for the things around you, using all your senses
4. Be conscious of the food that you eat and where it came from
5. Make self-care and self-love a priority
6. Find the time to read or study
7. Instill discipline in yourself to make healthy choices and stick with them
8. Surround yourself with like-minded, supportive people for consistent encouragement
9. Accept an offer help when it is needed; there are a variety of natural treatments, therapies, and support available to help you survive and thrive through stressful situations.
10. Find yourself a mentor, coach, healer, or therapist to keep you accountable for your ongoing growth.
These are simple things that you can literally start today. Consider this when you are making decisions that affect your life; who are you really trying to appease? Don’t make a decision based on other people’s opinions or expectations. This is causing you self-harm. Focus on your purpose and prioritize self-preservation, without causing harm to anyone else. Change happens. That is the one guarantee in life. Having control of your thoughts allows you to better adjust and respond to change without feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
We need to remember that our thoughts regulate our life. Taking control of your thoughts is the most important thing you can do on this planet if you want to live a happy, healthy, and whole life. Finally, please remember that mental health is not a topic to be ignored or judged. It is a real thing and by getting help to handle it you are not weak, you are regaining your strength or remaining strong.
